With Volkswagen/Audi's introduction of the MQB EA888 Gen3 1.8T/2.0T engine came multiple advancements in technology and production. Significant weight savings were accomplished through moulded plastic parts throughout the powertrain; unfortunately, this included the engine's oil pan. With no protection to cover such an important, yet fragile part, it's easy to see why a plastic oil pan needs protection!

Constructed from 3/16" (4.76mm) thick 5052 aluminium and weighing in at only 16.15 lbs, with factory modelled air ventilation, our skid plate is sure to stand up to harsh road conditions that your OEM plastic belly pan could not.
Additionally, the ECS skid plate encompasses the full length of the engine undercarriage from the front bumper cover to the front engine subframe to provide complete protection. Conveniently this kit includes zinc-coated steel subframe hardware, aluminium skid plate spacers and all factory mounting hardware for easy installation and corrosion resistance.
